ABOUT US

ISE-DA™ (pronounced: e-sheh-da)

Founded in 2020, ISE-DA™ is a mission-driven art advisory dedicated to advancing the cultural stewardship of Black contemporary art. Through bespoke advisory services, educational initiatives, and strategic programming, we champion the acquisition and management of Black cultural production. ISE-DA™ prioritizes cultural stewardship — the practice of taking responsibility for and preserving the value of cultural works — and works to ensure the long-term preservation, visibility, and value of cultural works by artists of African descent.

Our work cultivates a new generation of Black collectors committed to shaping the cultural and economic future of Black communities worldwide.

With the principles of Cultivation, Education, and Reimagination, ISE-DA™ takes a holistic approach to cultural stewardship and uses art collecting as a starting point to invest in and support the global development of Black cultural production.

Our end goal? A connected community engaged and invested in sustaining contemporary Black art across the diaspora.

OUR VALUES

  • Through bespoke advisory services, strategic partnerships, and intentional outreach, ISE-DA™ cultivates a pioneering generation of Black collectors who see art as both a cultural responsibility and a tool for community investment. We support individuals in acquiring and managing culturally significant works, with a focus on communities often overlooked by the art world yet deeply committed to building meaningful collections. Our work centers Black cultural production as both an artistic and economic force, positioning collectors as stewards of cultural legacy and agents of long-term cultural and economic growth in Black communities.

  • Education is central to ISE-DA’s mission of shaping confident, informed, and values-driven collectors. Through one-on-one advising, tailored programs, public events, and cultural experiences, we support the development of deep expertise and long-term stewardship. Our educational offerings span art fair walkthroughs, artist studio visits, and conversations on provenance and valuation, alongside the cultural, theoretical, and historical frameworks that inform Black contemporary art. We aim to expand both the practical fluency and intellectual engagement of those investing in Black cultural production.

  • ISE-DA™ invites collectors and cultural participants to reimagine what art ownership, engagement, and impact can look like. We challenge extractive and exclusionary models by centering values-based collecting, cultural relevance, and intergenerational legacy. Through international research, cross-cultural dialogue, and site-responsive programs, we position Black art not only as an asset but as a catalyst for transformation, global connection, and future-building.
