About ISE-DA
ISE-DA is an international art advisory dedicated to the cultural stewardship of Black contemporary art across the African diaspora. Through advisory services such as the New Collectors Program and international research initiatives like Temperature Check, spanning the U.S., Brazil, and beyond, ISE-DA advances Black cultural stewardship, supports narrative preservation, and contributes to the global growth of Black patronage.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented intern to support ISE-DA’s advisory and research activities. This role is ideal for someone who is deeply curious about the intersections of art, culture, and social impact, and who is eager to gain hands-on experience in the world of art advising. You will work closely with the Founder and advisory team to support client services, artist research, and program execution.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct research on artists, collectors, institutions, art fairs, and auctions relevant to ISE-DA’s work
Assist in the preparation of client materials, including decks, proposals, and collection summaries
Support event planning and execution for collector programs, gallery walkthroughs, and studio visits
Maintain and update internal databases, inventory documentation, and digital records
Track relevant exhibitions, biennials, and news in the contemporary art world, with a focus on Black artists
Participate in select client and partner meetings as needed, and help with post-meeting follow-up
Ideal Candidate
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in art history, African or African diasporic studies, visual studies, museum studies, or a related field
Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to synthesize information concisely
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Demonstrated interest in contemporary art, cultural equity, and Black visual culture
Familiarity with tools like PowerPoint, Google Workspace, Notion, or Airtable (or willingness to learn)
