NEW COLLECTORS’ PROGRAM

Art Acquisition Policy

As part of the New Collectors Program, all acquisitions made through ISE-DA’s tours, introductions, events, or advisory services must be conducted through ISE-DA. This is not a formality — it’s a structural principle that protects your interests and preserves the trusted relationships we’ve cultivated across the art ecosystem.

Why this policy exists:

  • To ensure transparency and ethical standards in collecting

  • To protect your investment through clear communication and advisory support

  • To honor relationships with artists, galleries, and institutions built on trust

  • To maintain group-wide access and reputation by preventing back-channel behavior

What this means for you:

  • If ISE-DA has introduced you to a work, artist, gallery, or dealer through any part of our programming, you are expected to channel all acquisition inquiries through us.

  • If a gallery has issued a quote or invoice through or because of our introduction, it is your responsibility to follow through or communicate clearly if you are no longer interested.

  • You are always encouraged to ask questions, compare works, or request time to think — but once you signal serious interest, it becomes a formal negotiation.

Important reminders:

  • Direct purchases outside of ISE-DA from any introduction made via the program (even if you follow up independently later) are a breach of this policy.

  • If you are uncertain whether a potential acquisition falls under this policy, ask us first.

  • Failure to follow through more than three times (after an invoice has been requested or negotiations have begun) may result in removal from the program.

Our aim is not to gatekeep — it's to ensure that you're protected, that the artists and galleries are respected, and that this community can continue operating with high integrity and long-term access.

Program Policies

The New Collectors Program is a membership-based, privately run advising program. We are not a museum or public institution. As such, we have our own standards of operation and community expectations. We ask that all members adhere to the following:

Event Access

  • Access to private events, walkthroughs, and fairs is based on your membership tier.

  • Some events may include guests or plus-ones — when applicable, this will be clearly stated in the invitation.

  • Unless otherwise noted, events are for members only. Requests for exceptions cannot be accommodated.

Membership Engagement

  • Members are encouraged to be active participants: read emails, respond to invites, attend sessions, ask questions, and stay in touch.

  • Communication is key. If your availability or interests change, please let us know — your membership is meant to evolve with you.

  • Members who consistently do not respond, attend, or engage may be asked to pause or reconsider participation.

Event RSVPs & Attendance

  • Please RSVP by the stated deadline. Late responses may not be accommodated due to capacity limitations.

  • If you RSVP "yes" and cannot attend, notify us as soon as possible so we can offer the spot to another member.

  • Repeated no-shows may affect future access.

Press, Social Media, & Confidentiality

  • Many of our events include artists, galleries, and collectors in private settings. No recording or posting should be done unless permission is granted.

  • Respect the privacy of other members, artists, and spaces you enter through the program.

We are honored to accompany you on your collecting journey. Thank you for being part of the New Collectors Program.

Warmly,
ISE-DA
