About ISE-DA
ISE-DA is an international art advisory dedicated to the cultural stewardship of Black contemporary art across the African diaspora. Through advisory services such as the New Collectors Program and international research initiatives like Temperature Check, spanning the U.S., Brazil, and beyond, ISE-DA advances Black cultural stewardship, supports narrative preservation, and contributes to the global growth of Black patronage.


Position Summary
We’re seeking a research-driven intern to support Temperature Check, ISE-DA’s international initiative exploring contemporary art ecosystems across global cities. This role is ideal for someone interested in cultural research, global art markets, and the strategic development of research-based programs. The intern will contribute to artist and institutional research, ecosystem mapping, and the organization of materials that support ISE-DA’s international work and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on artists, galleries, institutions, and cultural organizations within specific city ecosystems

  • Support ecosystem mapping and preparation of city research briefs

  • Organize research materials, notes, and documentation for internal use

  • Assist with preparation of presentations and materials for programs, partners, and institutional engagement

  • Track key contacts, exhibitions, and developments within targeted art ecosystems

  • Provide general research and administrative support for Temperature Check planning

Ideal Candidate

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in art history, cultural studies, international studies, museum studies, or a related field

  • Strong research, writing, and information synthesis skills

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple sources of information

  • Demonstrated interest in contemporary art of the African diaspora and global cultural ecosystems

  • Able to work independently while collaborating closely with the ISE-DA team
