Welcome to the New Collectors Program
Your guided journey toward intentional collecting starts here.
What’s included?
The New Collectors Program is a curated, seasonal journey into the world of Black contemporary art. Each season is intentionally designed to be navigated in close collaboration with your art advisor. From guided walkthroughs of fairs, exhibitions, and studios to private events and thematic seminars, the program offers structured exposure that deepens your literacy, sharpens your eye, and equips you to collect intentionally. This program is here to interpret, contextualize, and support your growth and understanding of the ecosystem. Advisory support, which increases with each membership tier, helps you interpret what you’re seeing, clarify your interests, and make informed decisions as you build your collection with intention.
Members Only Experiences
As a member, you gain access to exclusive opportunities not available to the general public. Membership unlocks exclusive access to discounted experiences, art fair passes, private walkthroughs, and collector resources curated just for our community. These include complimentary admission to select events, early access to recommended artworks, invitations to collector-only gatherings, and tailored introductions to galleries and artists. Higher tiers may receive expanded access to fairs, priority scheduling for advisory sessions, and additional one-on-one guidance throughout the season.
Community Access
At the heart of the program is a growing community of Black collectors, patrons, and cultural stewards. Through WhatsApp groups, peer-to-peer discussions, and in-person meetups, members connect across backgrounds and cities to share insights, questions, and reflections. This is a space for mutual growth, accountability, and exchange — rooted in care, curiosity, and a shared investment in Black cultural futures.
Advisory Support
Members in the Cultural Enthusiast tier participate in group advisory sessions and virtual programming, which provide valuable insights into the art world, help build your collecting knowledge, and foster community engagement. One-on-one advisory support, including private seasonal sessions, is available for members in the Cultural Patron and Cultural Steward tiers. These personalized conversations offer tailored guidance on acquisitions, help clarify your collecting goals, and support your development as a cultural steward. You’re encouraged to actively engage, book early, reflect often, and maintain an ongoing dialogue with your advisor to make the most of your collecting journey.
This page is your onboarding hub — everything you need to feel grounded, confident, and connected. You’ll find essential links, resources, and next steps to set yourself up for success.

FAQs
-
While acquisitions are not required, the program is ultimately designed to guide members toward intentional collecting. Many begin with curiosity and learning, and grow into collecting over time. Higher membership tiers offer more personalized advising for those ready to build or refine a collection, but you can begin collecting at any stage. The core goal is to support your growth, whether you're still clarifying your interests or actively acquiring.
-
If something shared in a walkthrough, email, or session sparks your interest — or if you want to explore a particular artist’s work further — reach out to the ISE-DA team. We’ll guide you through the next steps, whether that includes placing a reserve, requesting additional information, or making introductions. All acquisitions that come through our tours, introductions, or programming must go through ISE-DA to protect your interests and ensure gallery relationships are maintained. Please review our Art Acquisition Policy for full details.

Our events are reserved for members only to maintain an intimate, focused environment for learning and dialogue. On some occasions, we may extend invitations to loved ones or guests — if that’s the case, it will be clearly noted in the invitation. Unless otherwise stated, assume that events are for members only. If you're ever unsure, feel free to reach out and ask.
-
We understand that life happens. While attendance isn’t mandatory, the more you participate, the more you’ll gain. We do our best to offer a range of in-person and virtual experiences to accommodate different schedules. Key highlights or notes may sometimes be shared afterward, but most programming is designed to be experienced live.
