Welcome to Temperature Check: São Paulo Cultural Stewardship Experience

We’re thrilled to welcome you to Temperature Check São Paulo, a one-of-a-kind immersion for Black cultural patrons, collectors, and creative leaders exploring the Afro-Brazilian art ecosystem. From September 2–7, 2025, participants will engage in an intimate and rigorous week of curated museum visits, gallery walkthroughs, studio conversations, and private collection tours—all grounded in the rich cultural history and contemporary vibrancy of São Paulo. This experience marks the launch of our two-year research initiative on Black cultural stewardship across the Diaspora. We look forward to deepening dialogue, building relationships, and reimagining what it means to invest in culture globally.

  • This program is designed for Black patrons, collectors, cultural leaders, and arts enthusiasts seeking deeper connection to global Black cultural production through guided, immersive experiences.

  • We welcome both emerging and established collectors. We also welcome those interested in cultural stewardship, philanthropy, and cultural care to apply.

  • No. Temperature Check is a curated, private experience with limited capacity, designed to foster intentional dialogue, reflection, and connection.

  • There is no obligation to acquire work. We encourage participants to explore their interests, and advisory support is provided for those considering acquisitions.

  • Participants should be comfortable walking moderate distances (museum/gallery tours, artist studios). Accommodations can be made with advance notice.

  • As of 2025, U.S. citizens will require a tourist visa to enter Brazil. We recommend applying at least 45 days before departure. We’ll provide participants with visa guidance and documentation upon acceptance.

  • No—your hosts and partners will provide guidance in English. A few helpful phrases will be shared prior to the trip

  • A $750 or $1,500 deposit (depending on your preferred package) is due by June 15th to secure your spot. Final payment is due July 31st. Deposits are non-refundable; cancellations after July 31st are non-refundable.
