ISE-DA New Collectors Program — Code of Conduct & Membership Agreement

The ISE-DA New Collectors Program is a curated membership community dedicated to building knowledge, relationships, and access within the world of Black contemporary art. As a member, you agree to uphold the mission, values, and policies of ISE-DA at all times.

1. Respect & Professionalism

  • Treat all members, artists, partners, and staff with respect.

  • Engage in discussions with openness and courtesy, even when opinions differ.

  • Confidentiality is expected — do not share personal information or private program content without consent.

2. No Solicitation Policy

  • Members may not directly solicit or approach other members, artists, or partners for sales, services, or fundraising unrelated to ISE-DA.

  • Acquisitions of works introduced or facilitated through the program must be transacted via ISE-DA.

  • Any acquisition, commission, or deal made outside of ISE-DA channels in connection with a program contact is a violation of this agreement.

Violation of the No Solicitation or Acquisition Policy will result in immediate termination of membership without refund.

3. Art Acquisition Protocol

  • Members must notify ISE-DA of any serious interest in works presented through the program.

  • All purchases will be coordinated through ISE-DA to ensure authenticity, proper documentation, and fair artist representation.

  • If an invoice has been issued — particularly when negotiations have already been entered — the member must proceed with the sale. Backing out after this stage without justifiable cause undermines relationships with artists and partners.

  • Repeated offenders of this policy will be removed from the program without refund.

  • Advisory services for acquisitions are only available at the Cultural Patron and Cultural Steward levels.

4. Event & Program Participation

  • RSVP only for events you intend to attend and provide notice if your plans change.

  • Respect event start times and instructions from ISE-DA staff or partners.

  • Photography may be limited or prohibited at certain events — members must comply with all stated guidelines.

5. Representing ISE-DA

  • Members should uphold the integrity and mission of ISE-DA when attending public or partner events.

  • Do not use ISE-DA’s name, contacts, or materials for personal or commercial purposes without prior approval.

6. Membership Revocation

ISE-DA reserves the right to revoke membership without refund in cases of:

  • Violation of the No Solicitation Policy

  • Breach of confidentiality

  • Disruptive or disrespectful behavior

  • Failure to follow event or program rules

  • Failure to follow through on invoiced acquisitions without valid reason

7. Membership Dues

Members of ISE-DA’s New Collectors Program will pay their respective dues ($350, $850, or $1,500) every 6 months throughout the duration of the program. Payment of dues can be made via PayPal as outlined on ISE-DA’s website. Any missed or late payments result in the pausing of membership services until the Member resumes payment. Failure to pay 2 membership cycle dues results in the cancellation of the membership. Any payments made to ISE-DA for membership is non-refundable unless Member explicitly requests to pause the membership for a specified period of time.

8. Restrictions

The Member agrees that they will not:

  • Share their login information with non-members

  • Reproduce any of the information received as part of their membership and share it with non-members

  • Post inappropriate, inaccurate or offensive content to membership forums and discussions

  • Share confidential information about ISE-DA services, programs, and more to non-members and third parties

  • Circumvent ISE-DA advisory services to purchase artworks from any artist, institution or more that ISE-DA has introduced them to

9. Photo Release

By purchasing this membership, the Member hereby grants ISE-DA permission to use photographs and/or videos of the Member taken throughout programming in the New Collectors’ Program in publications, news releases, online, and in any other and all communications related to the mission of ISE-DA.

10. Liability

The Member will not hold ISE-DA liable for any tangible or intangible damage that might happen to them while participating in the membership.

The Member agrees that ISE-DA cannot guarantee any results from their membership. Any negative or positive results that might occur during the membership are the result of the Member’s own personal choices.

11. Privacy

ISE-DA will not share any contact or personal information about the Member with other members, non-members, or any third parties without the Member’s written consent.

12. Membership Revocation

ISE-DA has the right to terminate the Member’s membership if any of the terms and conditions of this Agreement are violated. The Member can terminate their membership at any point and for any reason, and will not be charged for their next billing cycle.

By purchasing the membership, the Member confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this Agreement.
